Owen Gidlow, PLS
Professional Land Surveryor
As a second-generation surveyor originally from Lewiston, New York, Owen Gidlow has more than 50 years of experience in the surveying profession. He began his career apprenticing under his father, William Gidlow, PE, PLS, where he learned the fundamentals of surveying and mapping. Owen relocated to North Carolina in 1997 and earned his North Carolina Professional Land Surveyor license in 2001.
Throughout his career, Owen has worked with both large and small engineering and survey firms and has founded two surveying companies of his own. He currently serves as Surveyor Consultant for the Town of Belville and the Town of Carolina Shores.
In 2024, Owen was honored with a Key to the City of Southport for his volunteer efforts surveying and mapping grave sites at the historic John N. Smith Cemetery, helping the site gain recognition on the National Register of Historic Places.
